News from Leaflet's Bichons, year 2004!

    August 8
    In the last day of Sawo show there was held an International show, where 57 bichons were judged by Swedish Mr Dan Ericsson. He chose Myy to be the best bitch and BOS with a CC and a CACIB. BOB was Myy's half-sibling Samu, who gorgeously succeeded also in the finals by becoming 2nd in Toy Group. CONGRATULATIONS ELINA AND SAMU!

    Intermediate class bitches on Sunday

    August 7
    The national show in Kuopio Sawo show. Bichons were judged by Mr Terry Nethercott from UK. Myy became 3rd in her class with a nice critic.

      Myy's critic:
      "Very good head and expression. Level topline. Good depth of brisket. Excellent rear angulation. Moved with lots of drive and extension" EXC/3

    August 6
    Our Specialty took place in Kuopio, as a part of the Sawo show-happening this year. Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet "Myy" received a fine placement among 86 bichons. Mrs Hassi Assenmacher-Fayel from Germany chose her to be 2nd best bitch with a CC. Leaflet's Nomen Est Omen "Iiro" was placed second in junior dogs with excellent.
    In the afternoon there was held a toy group specialty, where 37 bichons were judged by Swedish Mr Lars Adeheimer. Iiro won his class and become 3rd best male with his first CC. CONGRATULATIONS TO IIRO AND HIS OWNERS!

    July 31
    There were 31 bichons entered in Pori international show under judge Mr Unto Timonen from Finland. Leaflet's Semper Fidelis "Pyry" became 2nd in his class. Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet "Myy" was best bitch and BOS with her 8th Finnish CC and 3rd CACIB. So far Myy has got 3 CACIBs from 3 different countries...
    July 18
    We travelled to Sweden again, at this time to Västerås INT show where bichons were judged by Mr Franz Neuwirth from Costa Rica. Myy became best bitch 3 and Pyry was second in his class, cc-quality. We got to enjoy the wonderful weather and once again some delightful Swedish company (greetings!). Of course we also had to do some shopping, without it no trip we girls make would be succesfull...

    July 10
    In Mikkeli national all breed show there were 50 bichons entered under Irish judge Mrs Claire Anne Ahern. Myy won her class and received a res-cc being 3rd best bitch. Leaflet's Nomen Est Omen, Iiro became 2nd in Junior Dogs evaluated excellent.
    Iiro's critic: "Lovely size. Excellent coat. Correct head. Lovely pigment. Correct bite. Good high tailset. When he moves he moves well."

    July 4
    National all breed Show in Karjaa. Judge Mrs Päivi Eerola chose Myy to be the best bitch and BOS. So far Myy has 7 certificates from Finland!!!

    June 27
    When everybody else in Finland was partying for the Midsummer Eve, whe started heading through Sweden to Norway, Trondheim international dog show. We travelled nearly 2000 kilometers by car plus the boat trips, but it was worth it. We had fun and also got to see some gorgeous nature. There were I, Laura, Myy and my friend Jaana Hellsten's young male Max with us. Photos you'll find here.
    At the show bichons were judged by Norwegian Mrs Wera Hübenthal. She made Max the best male and best of breed and Myy the best female and best of opposite sex. So they both received Norwegian certificates and CACIBs to take home!

    We made a trip to Sweden, Avesta INT show. Bichons were judged by Ms Annika Ulltveit-Moe. Myy became best bitch with a Swedish CC and her first CACIB!

    We got to meet many wonderful bichon-people at the show, greetings to all of them! Special greetings to Mrs Mia Hedman from Frittmi's bichons, we had such good time not to mention your good coffee...

    Leaflet's Nomen Est Omen "Iiro" was taken to Kotka INT show by his owners Mrs Pirjo Lippojoki and her family. Iiro participated Junior dogs, received excellent and was placed 3rd in his class judged by Mr Diogo Ramalho from Portugal. Iiro's coat was prepared by Ms Tuija Puhakainen (Thujaville's bichons). Thank you, Tuija!
    June 13
    National show in Virkkala. There were 45 bichons entered under judge Mr P.G.M Prins, Netherlands. Leaflet's Semper Fidelis, Pyry won intermediate class with excellent on his 2nd birthday. Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet, Myy became BOB with her 6th CC. We participated also the finals, and that was worth it...

    Myy became BEST IN TOYGROUP and BEST IN SHOW-2!!!!

    The group was judged by Mr Prins and BIS judge was Mr Joao Vieira Lisboa from Portugal

    In Rauma all breeds show bichons were judged by Ms Kirsti Lummelampi. Leaflet's Semper Fidelis, "Pyry" won his class with excellent, was placed second in the best dog and received (once again...) a RES-CC. Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet, "Myy" became the best bitch and BOS with her fifth certificate!

    We participated an international show in Helsinki, where bichons were judged by Mr Tom Mather, UK. He gave our Myy an excellent and placed her second in her class. Leaflet's Navy Seal, "Nappi" took part in junior class for the first time. He got an excellent and was placed 4th in his class.
    Critic for Nappi: "Good for type and balance, well balanced skull, good pigmentation, nice reach of neck, strong well-made body, could use more muscle in the rear, very good in profile, coat is of a good texture."

    In Hamina all breeds show bichons were judged by Mrs Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen. Leaflet's Nomen Est Omen "Iiro", 10 months old, participated junior dogs and was placed second in his class with excellent. Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet "Myy" was best bitch and BOS gaining her 4th certificate. Pretty nice day indeed...

    "Very well developed, firm good sized dog. Very good head, dark eyes and excellent pigmentation. Excellent carriage and topline Excellent forechest. Good rear, but slightly rotating rear movement. Thick, slightly puppyish coat. Ivory color. EXC/2"

    Myy's ciritc translated into English:
    "Very beautiful strong well constructed young bitch. Excellent head, eyes and pigmentation. Correct proportioner. Thick clear white coat. Firm body. Good angulations. Showy totality.EXC/1, CC, BOS"

    April 25
    Lahti INT show today. Myy was placed 2nd in her class with excellent among 50 bichons under Mrs Zidy Munsterhjelm-Ehnberg.

    April 17
    We made a longish trip to Vaasa all breeds show. There were 13 bichons entered under judge Mrs Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari from Finland. Myy was entered in Intermediate class, she became Best bitch and BOB with her 3rd CC. Leaflet's Semper Fidelis "Pyry" became - from Intermediate class as well - Best dog 2 with a RES-CC. He got beaten by my friend Hanna Ruhanen's Vili, who became a champion today. Congratulations, Hanna and Vili!

    The traditional Easter dog show in Lappeenranta. Total amount of bichon entries under judge Mr Juha Kares was 30. Among those were only 9 mths old Iiro (Leaflet's Nomen Est Omen) and - of course - our Myy. We didn't travel all the way to Lappeenranta in vain; Iiro made his debute in the Junior dogs being EXC/2 and 4th Best Male. Myy won her class and became 2nd in Best Bitch with a RES-CC.

    March 28
    We participated a toy group specialty in Kankaanpää. There were 28 bichons entered under judge Ms Tiina Taulos (formerly Palosaari). Myy was entered in the junior class one day before her 15 mths Birthday. We travelled to Kankaanpää together with my good friend Jaana Hellsten. We might call this a succesfull trip, cause Myy received her 2nd CC being BOB and Jaanas intermediate dog Leeward's Chick Magnet received a CC as well, being BOS.The critic for Myy translated into English: "A lovely, feminine bitch with good head and expression. Excellent body and ribcage. Firm elbows. Balanced angulations. Beautifully treated thick coat. Moves well." EXC/1 CC, BOB

    International dog show in Tampere. Total amount of 60 bichons entered under judge Mr Terry Nethercott, UK. Myy participated Junior bitches and received an Excellent.
    Pyry took part in Intermediate dogs and was placed 2nd in his class with an Excellent. Pyry's critic:

      "Very good head and expression. Good body, well balanced throughout, with good bend of stiful. Well presented, moved well." EXC/2

     

    February 15

    International dog show in Imatra. Leaflet's Navy Seal made his first debute in the showring being the best male puppy and BOS-puppy at the age of only 7 months under judge Mr Ken Stevenson, Northern Ireland. Congratulations to Nappi and his owners!!

    February 7
    We went to a dog show for FCI groups 2 and 9 in Isokyrö. There were 19 bichons under judge Mrs Brenda Banbury, UK. Myy was placed 2nd in Junior bitches with "excellent". Pyry become 2nd in Intermediate class with "very good". Myy's critic:

      "Excellent outline, feminine. Excellent head and expression. Good coat and pigment. Moved ok. Well presented."

    We really had a fun trip, not least because of Laura's birthday. Happy Birthday, Laura 10 years!

    January 25

    We started our show season 2004 in the Turku Winter Dog Show, where Myy was entered among 44 bichons. The judge was Norwegian Mrs Anne-Marie Haugsten-Hansen. Myy got an evaluation "excellent" and became 2nd in her class (junior bitches). The critic:"A feminine bitch of excellent type. Beautiful head and expression. Good neck and topline. Well set tail. Balanced angulations. Well bodied. OK movement but front could be steadier. Wonderful temperament. EXC/2"

    January 1st

    I WISH EVERYBODY A VERY GOOD START FOR A NEW YEAR!!In our last show of the year 2003, the Helsinki Fair Center INT, Petit Ami's Starshine to Leaflet, "Myy" succeeded gorgeously by being the best bitch and gaining both of the titles Finnish Winner-03 and Finnish Junior Winner-03. Leaflet's Semper Fidelis, "Pyry" gained also a fine placement, second in Junior Dogs, beaten in his class only by the BOB male Leeward's Bear In Mind. It feels good to continue from this point...
